Takapau Kwila Deck

When this couple reached out, they were stepping into a new season of life — retirement in the country. They’d found the perfect section and moved a transportable home onto it, surrounded by peaceful rural views. All they needed was a deck that would truly connect their new home to the landscape around it.

From the start, this project had to be done right the first time. With Christmas fast approaching, we knew there’d be no second chance to finish before the holidays. A long 12-hour day of set-out, digging, and concreting laid the foundation for success — literally.

Once the groundwork was set, the kwila decking came together beautifully. The rich timber tone complemented the countryside setting perfectly, creating a warm, welcoming space to relax and take in the view.

The clients were over the moon. Their first Christmas in their new home was spent exactly as they’d hoped — outside, on their new deck, enjoying the quiet and the country air.
