Who we are
I’m Brett, the owner of BB Build, and my journey into the building industry has been anything but conventional. Growing up, I had my sights set on university, but a year spent landscaping opened my eyes to the joy of working with my hands. I found myself drawn to the satisfaction of creating something tangible, whether it was building decks or fences. At 21, I took the leap and began my apprenticeship, not knowing where it would lead me.
Over the next few years, I honed my skills, running sites and building beautiful homes. I thrived on the craftsmanship required to install cedar weatherboards and the teamwork involved in erecting frames. But it was the devastation of Cyclone Gabriel in 2023 that truly reshaped my perspective. I felt a deep need to help my community rebuild, and that experience ignited a passion within me to start my own business.
BB Build was born from a desire to deliver quality renovations and new homes while prioritizing communication, transparency, and integrity. I believe that every project is a partnership, and I take pride in providing clear quotes and regular updates to keep my clients informed and involved.
When I’m not on-site, you can find me enjoying the outdoors, trout fishing, golfing, or spending quality time with my wife, Stephany. I’m also committed to giving back, whether it’s through community gatherings or helping families affected by disasters.

The Team
On site you will see from left to right:
Brett — Owner/Operator
Runs the business, quotes the jobs, and still swings a hammer. If you've talked to us, you've talked to Brett. Every job goes through him, start to finish.
Gabe — Apprentice Builder
Been with Brett the longest and picked up the game fast. Reliable, keen, and pulling his weight on every job.
Harry — Senior Apprentice
Most of the way through his ticket and it shows. Trusted on the tools, sharp on the details, and a step ahead of where he needs to be.
Jake — Leading Hand
Brett's right-hand man and the engine on site. Runs the day-to-day, keeps the jobs moving, and makes sure everything's done properly. If Brett's not on site, Jake is.
How We Work With You
At BB Build, we understand that embarking on a building project is a significant commitment. Our streamlined process is designed to ensure clarity, communication, and quality from start to finish. Here’s how we work with you:
Step 1: Initial Enquiry
We begin with a call from our team member, Steph, who will gather preliminary information about your project. This initial contact allows us to understand your vision and set the stage for a successful partnership.
Step 4: Pricing Process
Once we have a clear understanding of your project, we will prepare a detailed pricing estimate. Our transparent quoting system ensures you know exactly what to expect, helping you make informed decisions without any surprises.
Step 7: Meet the Team and Start Work
You will meet our dedicated team, including your project foreman and construction manager. We will also set up our project management app, giving you real-time access to updates and documentation throughout the build process.
Step 2: Consultation with Brett
Following your enquiry, you will have a call with Brett, our founder and lead builder. This conversation will delve deeper into your ideas, budget, and timeline, ensuring we are aligned before moving forward.
Step 5: Quote Presentation
We will present the final quote in a face-to-face meeting, where we will walk you through each aspect of the costings. This is your opportunity to ask questions and clarify any concerns, ensuring complete transparency.
Step 8: Weekly Updates
Throughout the construction phase, you will receive weekly updates from your project manager. This consistent communication keeps you informed about progress and any adjustments that may be necessary, ensuring we stay on track.
Step 3: Site Visit
We will schedule a site visit to assess the space and discuss your project in detail. This face-to-face meeting allows us to understand your needs better and explore the possibilities for your renovation or new build.
Step 6: Quote Approval
Upon your approval of the quote, we will formalize the agreement by signing the contract. This step solidifies our commitment to your project and sets a clear path forward.
Step 9: Final Walkthrough and Handover
Once construction is complete, we will conduct a final walkthrough with you to ensure everything meets your expectations. After final payment, we will hand over your new space, ready for you to enjoy.
